Peter A. Meaney, MD, MPH
Dr Meaney is a board-certified pediatric critical care physician and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Meaney has over two decades of experience in pediatric intensive care medicine, resuscitation science, and health systems implementation. He previously served on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia before joining Stanford in 2018.
His scholarly work includes leadership roles with the American Heart Association and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), where he contributed to international consensus guidelines in pediatric life support and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. He has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed publications in journals including New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Pediatrics, Critical Care Medicine, Circulation, Resuscitation, and The Lancet.
Dr. Meaney’s research has focused on survival outcomes in pediatric cardiac arrest, CPR quality metrics, defibrillation dosing, and implementation of evidence-based acute care practices across diverse health systems.
In his medicolegal work, Dr. Meaney provides independent medical record review and standard-of-care analysis in complex pediatric critical care cases.
